How a 7000-year-old medicine could be the answer to this problem!

Traditional Chinese medicine offers a viable alternative to conventional western treatment when it comes to infertility. Through using Chinese Medicine I have been getting very remarkable results for those couples that have already been down every possible medical route and have had little success. According to figures, one in six couples now have infertility problems and despite the best possible medical intervention, they are still not conceiving. Some couples may already have one or two children and are failing to conceive another. Even after countless IVF, GIFT and AIH treatments many couples are still not able to conceive despite all medical tests showing them to be of good health and that there is no explanation to why they cannot conceive. Even the best medical treatment to date can only produce a 20% success rate with conception. See how Chinese Medicine can improve your success rates, see our article above (Increase Your Success Rate By 96.1% Using Traditional Chinese Medicine)

Yet a 7000-year-old medicine can produce remarkable results after the best medical intervention has failed.

Maybe it is time for western medicine to admit it hasn’t all the answers and start to embrace the therapies that they have for so long tried to discredit because of bias and lack of understanding.

Important Facts concerning Fertility

Eighty percent of couples having regular sex without contraception with conceive within 1 year of trying with another 10% conceiving after that. This suggests that around 10% of the population suffer from infertility. Of this number, 40% are due to female problems, 40% to male problems, 10% are due to a combination of both male and female, and 10% cannot conceive due to biological and anatomical concerns. Peak fertility occurs between 21-25 years of age in both males and females and after that it gradually declines. After 25 years of age, there is only a 75% chance of pregnancy within 6 months. After 30 years of age, this decreases to only a 50 % chance. Around 40 years of age this further decreases to only a 25% chance and after 40 years a 22% chance.

Many women believe that having a baby in their late 30’s and even into their 40’s is easily possible. The sad fact of the matter is that these women run the real risk of not being able to get and stay pregnant when they finally decide the time is right. Many women's assumptions about child bearing in the 30’s and 40’s are based on ignorance of the true facts about female fertility and age. Therefore it is important for researches and practitioners of all sorts to get this information out to the public to decrease the growing rate of infertility for couples. Also we as a western society need to get better programs set up so that women can have a career and children at the same time.

In Australia our programs are good compared to the rest of the world but we really need to implement better ones. Also, if any great achievements are to be made with regards to infertility, Western and Eastern medicines need to combine to provide the best possible treatment for the public. All western tests fail to show the true reason behind this problem even when results are all coming back fine.

Females

Female fertility is very closely associated with her monthly menstruation. It is little wonder that Zhu Dan-xi in the Jin/Yuan Dynasties said, “In order to cure infertility, the first important thing is to regulate the menstruation.”

In modern times a famous practitioner states all of this in a modern way: “Female infertility frequently results from hormonal imbalance, which is expressed as problems of ovulation and anovulation. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the first step in treating female infertility is regulation of the menstrual cycle, which effectively regulates hormonal imbalance and induces ovulation.”

Treatment is not solely based on the above, but also on the basis of pattern discrimination and disharmonies within the organs according to the TCM model. There is no single treatment for infertility but rather that treatment varies from patient to patient based on their individual patterns of disharmony.

In the Chinese medical treatment of infertility patterns, the regulation of the menstruation the main point specifically via measures for rectifying the organs and clearing blockages and disharmonies. In Chinese Medicine hormonal imbalance in the female is related to three internal organs: Liver, Spleen, and Kidneys. TCM closely places infertility as closely related to kidney function, since the Kidneys control the reproductive system in both males and females.

Emotional factors play a very big role in infertility according to Chinese Medicine. This along with poor dietary habits seems to contribute to a lot of infertility problems.

Males

The causes for Male infertility in TCM are not as complex as the female model but never the less carries as much importance.

Most male infertility is treated via rectifying the Kidney energy but once again this is only a general rule and pattern discrimination must be followed to achieve good results.

Once again emotional stress and diet also plays an important role. See our articles at the top of the page to see what else can be done to help male fertility problems.

Low cost and non-invasive

Traditional Chinese Medicine provides a low cost, non-invasive alternative and complement to Western medicine in the treatment of infertility. Because TCM focuses on re-balancing individuals and treating the cause of the problem, not just treating the symptoms, or just treating the disease. Its treatment is tailor made to the individual and at the same time promotes the health and wellbeing of the entire person with no harsh side effects.

This being so, it makes sense to first attempt to correct infertility through Traditional Chinese Medicine. If that fails then secondly use the more forceful, harsh but also more risky treatments of modern medicine. It can also be of great benefit to use western medicine in conjunction with TCM at the same time. This way the TCM can be used to counteract the harsh side effects of the western medicine and increase the chances further more of obtaining conception.

If Medicine as a whole is to evolve and provide the best possible care then Western and eastern Medicine will have to combine like they do in China.

The West has the advanced technology but its medicine and diagnostic evaluations are still very young.

The East on the other hand lacks the same technology but has advanced diagnostic techniques that have been used for over 7000 years. These different, but far more superior methods of diagnosis of the internal organs could benefit western medicine greatly.

Why aren’t the western methods working effectively?

The one thing that does cause me much concern after seeing many of these couples is that most of the women still do not have a regular cycle and have been told that all tests show nothing wrong. I cannot understand how that conception is going to take place easily, if the cycle is not regulated.

No wonder that these couples have failed with countless IVF attempts. How can a women who is experiencing irregular periods, while experiencing severe pre-menstrual cramps and is getting clots the size of marbles in her flow, possibly fall pregnant.

This does raise some doubt over are they really receiving the best possible medical intervention. If the cycle is not regulated before trying to conceive then all intervention may fail despite best efforts.

Many women think that experience-debilitating pain before and during a period is a normal part of the womanly cycle. The real truth is that it is not. No woman should experience any pain at all before or during a period. IT IS NOT NORMAL. See our articles on what a proper menstrual cycle should be like (click here)

It is just that we are all used to hearing it as a normal occurrence that we put up with this problem. Also being able to take painkillers every month to disguise the fact that there really is a problem.

So, why are so many people experiencing so many problems with regards to gynaecology factors?

One of the main problems is of cause stress. Emotional stress plays a bigger part in the big picture. The advent of the contraceptive pill is another factor. Diet along with both environmental and sociological influences. Many of the safety nets that have guarded people over the last few decades are now ending up in our waterways and our food and causing real problems for us all.

So what is the answer?

Quite simply to start to educate the public as well as medical practitioners from all divisions coming together to offer the best possible treatment.

The time has come to stop treating symptomatically and start to treat holistically. The band-aide theory just isn’t working anymore.

It’s time to start treating the cause, not just the symptoms. It is also time to start treating people as a whole person not as the ailment that is affecting them. No medicine of any kind solely has the answer on its own. Therefore it is time to unite all our knowledge and provide a better health system for all. After all it doesn’t matter which medicine system you belong to, we are all trying to achieve the same results. That is for better patient health.
