Morning Sickness
The Golden Rules
- No cold icy drinks or icy cold foods.
Icy drinks and food only impair the digestive function and also cause the stomach to spasm. The stomach needs a temperature of 37 degrees (Body Temp) to function properly and for the digestive process to activate. Putting something at minus five or even 5 degrees causes the stomach to temporarily spasm and shrink. It also has to use up a lot of energy getting that food or drink up to optimum temperature for digestion to take place.
- Cut down on Cold Raw food such as salads and fruit.
While fruit and salad are good for you the process for which most of it is stored is not. As above we tend to refrigerate a lot of our fruits and vegetables. If eating any fruits, make sure they are put out on the bench to come up to room temperature before eating. Better still have stewed fruits and add a little ginger to it. Steam all vegetable too. It makes digestion easier.
- Reduce stress.
Stress only makes any illness worse. Reduce all stress at any cost.
- Have lots of warm foods.
Foods such as casseroles, soups, stir-fry with ginger added. Everything should be warm to enhance digestive function.
- Small meals more often
By eating small meals more often the body blood sugar levels are kept at correct levels. Eating small meals more often improves digestive function also.
